Guam – The Mayor’s Council of Guam president Agana Heights Mayor Paul McDonald says that the Liberation Carnival will be held on the Paseo grounds this year.

The council was initially considering moving the carnival to the Oka point area in Tamuning however the Tamuning municipal planning council was strongly opposed to this idea. Some Mayor’s were also opposed to this idea because they felt people would be less inclinced to attend the carnival. Mcdonald says they ultimately decided not to move it to the Oka point because it’s infested with the little fire ant.

McDonald says they want to move the carnival out of Tiyan because the carnival has been less successful over the years. McDonald says they have had problems with accessibility for parking and the connection to the water system. McDonald says that these problems in turn resulted in less participation by vendors and less customers.
