Guam – You still have a chance to check out the Liberation Carnival. The Carnival was going to close last night but the Mayor’s Council decided to extend the carnival one more week. Mayor’s Council Executive Director Angel Sablan says its not unusual for the carnival to be extended, especially after a rainy liberation season like we had this year.
“Actually this happens every year we gets lots of rain,” Sablan said. “This year we had eight days of rain.”
Sablan said the heavy rains caused the Carnival to closer early and reduced the size of the crowd on those nights. He hopes the weather will cooperate this week so that the vendors can get enough business to make up for the losses from the rainy nights.
