(Press Release) The Guam Energy Office (GEO) is encouraging everyone to participate in Earth Hour 2019 on Sat, Mar. 30 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For just one one hour, turn off all unnecessary lights inside and outside your home.

According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), for the past 10 years, people around the world have come together every Earth Hour to support efforts to tackle climate change.

Various hotels and restaurants on Guam are also joining this movement and have committed to a variety of conservation methods by turning off outside lights, notifying their guests to turn off in-room lights and dimming restaurant lights in exchange for candlelight dinners for guests.

Hotels and local businesses who participate will be acknowledged in one of GEO’s media print ads in the month of April during the promotion of Earth Month. Let GEO know if your
establishment will be participating by calling 646-4361 or visiting their Facebook page. Post your participation on social media and hashtag #guamearthhour2019.

For more information, please feel free to contact Rebecca Respicio, GEO Director at 646-4361 or via email at rebecca.respicio@energy.guam.gov
