Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, face masks have become a necessary accessory in our daily lives.
And to increase accessibility, a local business gave out free masks to island residents.
Dozens of cars lined up to get a pack of up to five free cloth face masks at Loco Promos in Harmon.
Business owner Jennifer Rodriguez says that the company prepared 5,000 masks to distribute to the community, especially for those unable to get a mask of their own.
“We always give back to everyone. We always want to give back, especially during this pandemic. There are a lot of families struggling and can’t afford masks. It’s our way of giving back,” Rodriguez said.
