Lotte Hotel employees in Tumon spent the week handing out hundreds of meals to COVID-19 front liners.
The Korean hotel chain’s Guam location prepared 100 meals per day — from Monday until today — handing them out in drive-thru fashion.
Tes Reyes-Burrier, the hotel’s food & beverage manager, says the team wanted to give back to the island community.
“What we always say is, ‘no thank you!’ Because if not for you, I think the island is doing good in containing the COVID-19 …if not for them, then it would be very difficult for us… just look at other countries,” Reyes-Burrier said.
The food service ran from 11 am to 1 pm. The hotel says on some days they ran out of food within the first 30 minutes.
The “thank you” meals were only for this week.
