Make-A-Wish Sends Off 15-Year-Old Therese and Family to Paris

A special send-off was held for her on Wednesday.

Guam – 15-year-old Therese Fegurgur’s wish of traveling across Europe came true!

Thanks to Make-A-Wish, Therese along with her mom Mary and dad Benny will be leaving to Paris today for a week-long trip of a lifetime. According to her mom Mary, Therese was nominated as a wish kid by several members of the community who were inspired by Therese’s strength and optimism as she battles Lupus. Mary explains that in the seventh grade, before they discovered Therese’s illness, Therese made a bucket list. In that bucket list, Therese listed going to medical school when she’s older to become a pediatrician and traveling across Europe.

Mary says her family is thrilled and Therese has never been happier. “When the Make-A-Wish contacted us and interviewed her. They said we’re going to make sure she’ll go to Paris. We’ve just been so touched by so many people, contacting us, and working with Therese in fulfilling her dream. When she awarded this wonderful opportunity, it’s really giving her the strength to go on and continue with medical appointments,” Mary explains.

Therese’s wish is the 7th travel wish Guam’s Make-A-Wish chapter granted this fiscal year and they plan to send off more wish kids in the coming months.
