Man, 4 boys arrested for burglarizing Wan Chai Restaurant

A burglary investigation involving the Wan Chai Restaurant in Dededo, which happened on April 20, has been closed, thanks to a video that went viral on social media.

The video shows four individuals breaking into Wan Chai Restaurant in Dededo on April 20.

It also depicted the individuals breaking into the restaurant using a concrete block to break the front door, and exiting the restaurant with a box, which was later determined to be part of a cash register.

According to the Guam Police Department, numerous items were missing.

After the video widely circulated on social media, a mother of one of the actors in the burglary came forward with information and turned her son in to GPD.

As a result of the report, a 18-year-old man and three minor boys were arrested and charged for the incident.

Joy Aky, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary as a second degree felony, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam.

He admitted that he was one of the individuals seen in the video, but told officers that he did not enter the establishment.

Meanwhile, according to GPD, all three minors were arrested and charged with burglary, theft of property, conspiracy, consumption of alcohol underage, and beyond control. They were booked and confined at the Department of Youth Affairs.

The case was closed and referred to the Office of the Attorney General of Guam.
