A man faces five charges after allegedly assaulting and threatening family members with a machete and a gun respectively.
Twenty-nine-year-old Swain Jacob Dela Cruz was arrested and charged with family violence, terrorizing and two charges of aggravated assault with the special allegation of a Deadly Weapon used in a Felony.
According to the magistrate complaint, on February 3rd at about 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a male threatening the family with a gun at a Rydilla Street residence in Dededo.
Court documents state that Dela Cruz emerged from the residence crying with his hands up when officers arrived at the location.
One of the victims who was the nephew of the defendant told officers that earlier, he and the other victims were drinking while talking about work with Dela Cruz, who after being asked about his absence from work, raised his voice and began yelling.
After this, court documents further state that Dela Cruz allegedly punched one family member and swung a machete at another.
The defendant was then allegedly heard by the victims saying that he was going to get his gun. The victims alleged they went to their residence in fear Dela Cruz would carry out his threat.
