A retail theft incident in Sinajana and a robbery/carjacking incident in Talofofo on October 1st yielded a follow-up investigation from detectives assigned to Criminal Investigation Section, Property Crimes Unit.
During the incident in Sinajana, the suspect threatened to kill the taxi driver with a gun he had pointed at his back if he did not give him his money.
Following the acquisition of surveillance footage from the Sinajana 76 service station, the suspect was recognized as 21-year-old Johnathon Pangelinan, who had been apprehended after a chase in Dededo and Upper Tumon on October 4th.
After identifying Pangelinan from a photo line-up, the victim who had his money and car stolen confirmed Pangelinan as responsible.
Pangelinan was brought to the offices of the CID and, after being interviewed, admitted to being responsible for the theft at Sinajana and the robbery in Talafofo.
Pangelinan was arrested for the following offenses: robbery, terrorizing, and carjacking. He was also arrested for retail theft in a separate case.
He was booked and re-confined at the Department of Corrections. The case was forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for their information and disposition.
