Man arrested for Merizo shooting incident

As reported, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, officers from the Agat Precinct Command entertained a shooting incident that occurred at a home on South Doyle Street in Merizo.

A 30-year-old man was noted to have sustained a gunshot wound to his leg area and was immediately transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care. The male victim was listed to be in stable condition.

GPD’S Criminal Investigation Division and Special Operations Division were activated to assume the investigation.

Through the course of the follow-up investigation, detectives were able to locate a 46-year-old Dino Chargualaf Cruz and later arrested him for the following offenses:

-Attempted Murder
-Aggravated Assault
-Reckless Conduct
-Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
-Theft of a firearm
-Possession of a Firearm without a Valid Identification and
-Possession and Use of a Deadly Weapon in the Commission of a Felony.

Dino Cruz was subsequently booked and confined. This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
