A man charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise in the mail will serve no time in jail.

As determined by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood, George T. Quichocho has been sentenced to serve three years on probation, 50 hours of community service, and to pay restitution to the parties involved.

According to court documents, while he worked as a forklift operator for Unlimited Services Group, Quichocho came into contact with several packages and stole two boxes of coins worth $1,500, a bushcutter, and other items last year.

During his sentence hearing today, Quichoco said that he felt guilty about what he did and that he will try to find employment to fulfill the court’s requirements.
