Guam – What was supposed to be an enjoyable Christmas day at the beach has turned into tragedy for one man and his family.
GFD Spokeswoman Cherika Chargualaf says Guam Fire Department responded to a drowning incident in Tanguisson Beach this afternoon.
The call came in just before 2:30 p.m. of a distressed swimmer in Tanguisson Beach.
Chargualaf said the 23-year-old man’s lifeless body was pulled from the waters and bystanders performed CPR along with GFD rescue personnel. However, signs of death were observed.
“MedControl [was] contacted and advised to cease resuscitation efforts,” said Chargaulaf, adding that the man was taken to the Guam Memorial Hospital.
