U.S. Naval Base Guam said around 11:15 a.m. Thursday, a vehicle entered the base’s main gate through the outbound lane.

Base officials said, “following the unauthorized entry, access to all NBG installations was immediately secured.”

A news release from NBG said Navy Security Forces apprehended the suspect who has been identified as a male civilian.

Traffic going into the base and in the area was backed up through the late morning and early afternoon on Thursday.

Officials say Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) along with Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
