Guam – Guam Police Department Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia reports that the Guam medical Examiner has determined that the death of Mike Ghiglione was a suicide.
The autopsy was performed this afternoon [Thursday].
Ghiglione was was the Executive Director of the Center for Micronesian Empowerment. He was found dead in the parking lot beside the building that used to be the Ohana Bayview Hotel last night.
The Secretary of the Board for the Center of Micronesian Empowerment, Jay Merrill told PNC News that Ghiglione was a respected member of the community and that Ghiglione’s work for the Center was “extremely important for the people of the region … he will be sorely missed,” said Merrill.

Ghiglione was in his late 50’s, said Merrill, but he died not know his exact age.
He adds that Ghiglione has been on Guam for a little over 2 years. He does not have family here, but he has “a whole bunch of friends who will miss him dearly,” said Merrill.
