Man in officer-involved shooting arrested

As reported, on Sunday, August 30, 2020, detectives assigned to GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, were activated to assume an Officer-Involved Shooting incident that occurred in the Dededo area.

33-year-old Johnson Naich was subsequently wounded and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and care.

On Friday, September 4, 2020, Johnson Naich was discharged from the hospital and later met with CID detectives who conducted an interview.

Johnson Naich was later arrested for the following offenses:

-Fraudulent Use of License Plate
-Reckless Driving
-Eluding a Police Officer
-Aggravated Assault
-Assault on a Police Officer
-Use of a Deadly Weapon in Commission of Felony
-Criminal Mischief
-Crimes Against the Community
-Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
-Driving While Impaired and
-Reckless Driving While Impaired

Johnson Naich was subsequently booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.

Although this case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution, this case is ongoing as both GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division and Internal Affairs continue their investigation with the Officer-Involved Shooting.
