Guam – In District Court today, a man who stands accused of receiving child pornography has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Joseph Pangelinan Jr. was indicted on a single count of receipt of child pornography last November. According to court documents he was found in possession of 85 CD’s which contained the graphic material.
While earlier this year it was asserted that Pangelinan would argue not guilty by reason of insanity, he accepted a deal with the government today in court—pleading guilty to the lone charge against him.
Court documents detail findings of the forensic examination of Pangelinan’s computers and devices discovering a total of 2,280 images and 17 videos of child pornography.
In one video two girls between the ages of 10 to 12 years of age are depicted nude and engaging in sexual activities, authorities allege.
According to the plea agreement, Pangelinan allegedly admitted to downloading and receiving the child pornography on his computers and devices. Pangelinan could face a prison sentence of 5 to 20 years. Upon completion of his imprisonment, he will be placed on 5 years supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
A sentencing hearing has been set for July 5th.
