A man was stabbed Sunday afternoon outside the New Plaza Market located in the Hemlani Commercial Apartment complex in Tamuning.
According to a release from Guam police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao the stabbing occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The victim was with a group of other men outside the New Plaza Market when he got into an altercation with one of the other men.
The victim was stabbed in the back. He went home and told his wife what happened.
Police were not called until 7 p.m. Sunday evening. The victim was then taken to Guam Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition.
Officer Tapao says that the case has been forwarded to GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division.
No description of the suspect was released.

On Sunday June 7 at around 7 p.m., officers from the Tumon Precinct Command entertained a stabbing complaint at the Hemlani’s Commercial Apartment’s in Tamuning.
Preliminary police reports suggest that on Sunday June 7 shortly before 4:00pm, the male victim was with a group of men by the New Plaza Market in Tamuning. While there, an altercation occurred with the victim and one of the individual’s, resulting in the victim being stabbed in his back area.
The male victim proceeded home and immediately informed his wife in which police were contacted. The male victim was later transported to Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care, where he was listed in stable condition.
This case is ongoing and has been forwarded to GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division for a follow up.
