A couple of weeks ago, FOX news reported that 27 year old Dyllin Jaycruz Gogue, a San Jose man with possible Marianas Islands ties, was shoplifting from a Home Depot when he started a fire and destroyed the home improvement store, sending customers and employees running for their lives, police said Tuesday.
He was arrested on April 15th and faces multiple felony charges, such as seven counts of grand theft and three counts of petty theft including aggravated arson.
FOX news has said that Santa Clara County prosecutors said he intentionally lit a fire in an aisle while stealing tools inside the 98,827 square foot store and resulted in a loss of $17 million in inventory
During their inquiry investigators linked Gogue to a number of shoplifting incidents going back to Jan. 4
According to Investigative Reporter from Fox2 Brooks Jarosz fire investigators are unsure of
how the fire was set and spread but investigation records shows that the store had safety code violations related to ceiling clearance, sprinkler system, and fire alarms.
