Guam – The Manenggon Memorial Foundation advises the public that beginning 12:00 pm Sunday July 28, runners will be retracing the Guam World War II forced march routes to Manenggon. This run is to honor all Guam World War II victims and survivors and will culminate in a march from the Ylig river bridge to the Manenggon Memorial at 3:00 pm.
The run legs will begin with brief handoff ceremonies at Chaguian, Tiyan, Hagatna, Agat and Inarajan.
The runs will include interim handoff ceremonies at Mangilao, Barrigada, Sinajana, Ordot, Chalan Pago, Santa Rita and Talofofo.
The public is advised to please support these runners by waving, raising the Guam flags, honking horns and flashing your lights, all in memory of our WWII homegrown heroes.
Motorists along the route 1, route 15, route 4, route 17 and the interim villages are asked to please proceed with caution and help keep the runners safe.
