March Proclaimed American Red Cross Month

Guam – Governor Eddie Baza Calvo Thursday proclaimed March American Red Cross Month on Guam.

The Governor was surrounded by Red Cross volunteers from the private sector and the military along with Guam Red Cross Chief Executive Director Chita Blaise.

Governor Calvo noted that while Guam has, in recent years, been sparred from any serious typhoons of earthquakes, there has been a noticeable “up-tic” in natural disasters on elsewhere, in Asia and on the U.S. mainland and the American Red Cross, he said, has played a crucial role in helping to alleviate the suffering caused by those disasters.

The Governor thanked the Guam Chapter for their  assistance in helping island families recover from personnel tragedies and for helping to keep Guam safe and prepared to deal with emergencies when they do arise.
