Marianas Media: Guam News Watch Signs Off The Air

Guam – Today CW4 parent company Marianas Media Investors announced the dissolution of its nightly newscast, Guam News Watch, which aired weeknights live at six and repeated late evenings and week mornings on both The CW4 and on MMI’s local Filipino station, PSST (Channel 26.4
over the air, and on Channel 173 via MCV).

“Last night marked the final broadcast of our half-hour news program,” Marianas Media CEO Georgette Tengco said.

“Marianas Media is proud of the tradition of unique news perspective it has brought to electronic journalism on Guam,” Tengco said. “And we are
overwhelmed by the reception we received from our viewing audience.”

“We are still a young company and will take this time to optimize the look and feel of core network and syndicated programming on The CW4 and on PSST, building synergy between that programming key promotions, and taking full advantage of our excellent commercial production department. Then we can consider other sustainable ways of growing our media assets,” Tengco said.

“MMI may entertain the redevelopment of news programming in the future, but the timing of that would be premature at this time,” she said.

“We are grateful for the constant stream of positive feedback we have received from News Watch viewers and for their loyalty to the Guam News Watch brand on air and online. Thank you, Guam, for allowing us to bring you quality news programming for the past nine months. And thank you for viewing our broadcast channels. Look for more good things to come from The CW4, PSST, and Marianas Media.”
