The first festal Mass for the island’s patron saint Santa Marian Kamalen on December 8 at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica in Hagatña will be celebrated at 5:45 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. It will be in CHamoru. The change is reflected in an updated schedule for the Island-wide Pilgrimage of the historic Santa Marian Kamalen statue that accompanies this announcement.

The main celebrants and festal Mass times at the Cathedral-Basilica on Dec. 8 are: Monsignor James Benavente, 5:45 a.m. (CHamoru Mass); Father Tom McGrath, 7:30 a.m.; Archbishop Byrnes, 9:30 a.m.; and Father Romeo Convocar, 6 p.m.

The statue of Santa Marian Kamalen is scheduled to leave the Agaña Cathedral at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday to begin its island-wide pilgrimage. The visit of the Blessed Mother’s statue to parishes and sites is not a motorcade so for the safety of all, the faithful are kindly asked not to follow behind the statue in their vehicles.
