Guam – May was proclaimed “Guam Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month” this morning during an event held at the Harley Davidson shop in Asan.

At the event, Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio was joined by Senator Tommy Morrison and retired Chief Justice Peter Siguenza, among others.

The Governor’s proclamation reads, in part, “Too many lives have been lost on Guam’s roads. Education and prevention go hand-in-hand to promote motorcycle safety.”

Senator Morrison, who lost a brother in a motorcycle accident, is quoted in a release as saying “Safety awareness saves lives and protects motorcyclist from injury and even death. If designating a month for motorcycle safety saves just one life, or prevents one serious accident, then we have been successful.”
