Guam – Yigo Mayor Robert Lizama and Vice Mayor Ronald Flores are coordinating an effort to ensure the continued safety of F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School and Simon Sanchez High School.
The work will be done by the Yigo Mayor’s Office in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Nerissa Underwood, the Administrative Teams of FBLG Middle School and Simon Sanchez High School as well as International Bridge Corporation.
Clearing of the jungle area will commence on Monday, December 20. They will start the clearing of all vegetation along the rear side of both schools.
Families residing around the immediate area are advised that heavy equipment will be in operation and that the area will be off limits during the clearing period.
The Yigo Mayor’s Office also recognizes the efforts of the following government agencies for their support in obtaining the clearing permit in order to accomplish the work:
* Department of Public Works, Department of Land Management, Guam Environmental Protection Agency, the Historical Preservation branch of the Department of Parks & Recreation, and the Department of Agriculture. The efforts of all agencies involved are noted for the expeditious completion this project.
