Frankie A. Salas, the mayor of Asan-Maina has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Asan-Maina mayor’s office will be closed until further notice pending sanitation and deep cleaning of the mayor’s office and the adjacent office spaces.
All personnel of the Asan-Maina office will also be tested.
According to the Mayors Council of Guam, Salas is in home quarantine and all his staffers have been advised to remain at home.
“Our MCOG family prays for the quick recovery of Mayor Salas,” the council said in a statement. Any resident that needs immediate assistance may contact the Asan-Maina mayor’s office by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Beginning Monday, you may contact the Mayors Council of Guam office at 472-6940 or 477-8461 and we will relay your concern or request for assistance. Please continue to always wear a mask, keep 6-ft. distancing, and wash your hands,” MCOG stated.
The Department of Public Health and Social Services has already started contact tracing.
