Mayor’s Council Elects New Officers; Proposal to Move Council Offices to Adelup Under Consideration


Guam – The Mayor’s Council has elected new officers who will be formally inducted at a ceremony yet to be scheduled.

The officers are:

President: Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares

Vice President: Sinajana Vice-Mayor Robert Hoffmann

Secretary Agat Mayor Carol Tayama

Treasurer: Inarajan Mayor Franklin Taitague

Sargent-at-Arms: Hagatna Mayor John Cruz

Yigo Mayor Robert Lizama is the Chairperson of the Induction Ceremony.

A release from the Mayor’s Council also reports that Governor Eddie Calvo and Lt. Governor Ray Tenorio have kept their campaign promise to make 2 representatives of the Mayor’s Council a part of their official Cabinet.

Mayor’s Council President Melissa Savares and Mayor’s Council Executive Director Angel Sablan attended the 1st cabinet meeting Tuesday at Adelup.

Governor Calvo stressed the importance of having the other Cabinet members work closely and support the requests and needs of the village Mayors and Vice-Mayors.

However a suggestion to have the Mayor’s Council move its offices to Adelup is still under negotiation and no final decision has been made yet.
