Mayors to contact constituents by phone and encourage COVID testing

The Mayors’ Council of Guam will assist the Department of Public Health and Social Services and the island’s medical community in reaching out to island residents, encouraging everyone to know their COVID-19 status through testing.

Village mayor’s offices will be making phone calls to residents to inform them that COVID-19 testing is available and free for all residents with or without insurance.

Residents will also be informed of all the available testing sites and operational times. These calls will only be conducted between the hours of 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Friday, beginning today, September 20, 2021.

According to the Mayors Council of Guam, the purpose of the phone calls is to remind everyone that the current virus strain is very infectious and deadly; and to seek immediate medical attention if feeling sick.

“If our phone calls can save even one life, then we would have succeeded. We urge residents to know their status, get COVID tested, even without symptoms,” MCOG stated.
