McDonald’s has taken Guam social media by storm with reports of employees testing positive for COVID-19.
When asked for confirmation, McDonald’s owner and operator Jose Ayuyu sent this statement to PNC:
“We recently learned that a few of our employees tested positive for COVID-19. Upon being notified of these cases, we closed the restaurant for deep cleaning and sanitization in accordance with CDC and local public health guidelines. We have been working with the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services and are conducting wellness checks at the beginning of each shift to ensure we limit the risk of exposure within our restaurants. “
He added: “We conduct regular sanitization of high-touch surfaces within the restaurant. Our employees are the heart and soul of our business, and we are thinking of them and their families during this difficult time.”
The location of the affected branch was not mentioned in the statement.
