Guam – Guam Medical Examiner Dr. Aurilio Espinola told PNC News this morning that the remains found Tuesday afternoon in Yigo are human.
However Dr. Espinola said all that remains of the person are bones. The bones were found “scattered about” in a jungle area near a ranch in Matagua Yigo. Espinola said there was no clothing associated with the bones.
Tuesday afternoon Guam Police issued a release saying that a death investigation had been opened in the case.
Dr. Espinola said it is too early to tell what the cause of death was. Nor could he determine the sex or age without further evaluation.
Espinola said that he will be conducting a more extensive examination of the bones today and that tests will be done to help determine what caused the death.
