MedPharm issued a news release Thursday evening advising that they have removed a product called ‘SDS Blocker’ from their inventory following the execution of a warrant at their Guam office in Dededo on Tuesday.

“The product was marketed and sold to MedPharm as an over-the-counter item by a local Guam distributor,” states the MedPharm release. “We have voluntarily removed the product from our inventory.”

The local Guam distributor is not named.

Special agents with Homeland Security Investigations led the search on Tuesday. HSI spokeswoman Lori Haley told PNC News the investigation was part of ‘Operation Stolen Promise’, HSI’s global campaign to combat COVID-19-related fraud.

“We take these matters very seriously,” said MedPharm President Rene Ramos, “and we are cooperating fully with all authorities.”

He said once federal authorities advised that ‘SDS Blocker’ did not meet federal standards, “we immediately took action and removed the product from our inventory.”

He called the search of the company’s office “an isolated event” and “the warrant was not related to any other items or operations involving our company.”
