Guam – KTNV- TV, the ABC affiliate in Las Vegas, is reporting that the wife of Nathan Paet has been arrested.
The station reports that Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested Michelle Paet Thursday. It is not clear what she has been charged with yet.
The 28 year old Air Force Staff Sargent was shot and killed outside his home in southwest Las Vegas last Wednesday, December 1.
Paet grew up in Yona. He joined the Air Force in 2002. He had been stationed at Nellis Air Force Base outside Las Vegas since November 2007. He was an F-15 supply section technician assigned to the 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Nellis.
Paet’s body was flown back to Guam and arrived last night [Thursday]. He will be buried with full military honors at the Veterans Cemetery in Piti.
The arrest report in the murder of Guam native Nathan Paet alleges that the airman’s wife, Michelle, “admitted to planning the murder of her husband with” the man accused of killing him, Michael Rodriguez.
Police believe that the plan was to split the proceeds from 2 life insurance policies amounting to $650,000.
The police report also reveals that Michelle “and Rodriguez were romantically involved and planned to develop a relationship together after the murder of her husband.”
