Micronesian Brokers Inc. presented a $1,000 check to Guam Cancer Care Friday afternoon.
The Pinktober fundraising effort is sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive. MBI General Manager Hermie Quenga presented the check during a brief ceremony at MBI headquarters in Maite.
“I’m just so grateful that our company and Colgate Palmolive are able to give back to the community, especially to Guam Cancer Care, to help with all your cancer advocacy and awareness programs,” Quenga said.
Pink is the color of of breast cancer awareness. Fundraising efforts to cure the disease are typically held in October. Hence, the name Pinktober has been adopted to highlight that effort.
