Mobil Oil Guam Inc. has confirmed that a second service station agent employee at the Mobil Airport service station has tested positive for COVID-19 on August 26.
This person had been in close contact with another employee who had tested positive on August 23 and was quarantined on the night of August 23.
All affected service station personnel and other personnel who had direct contact with the affected persons have already been isolated and placed on home quarantine.
Mobil continues to work closely with the local health authorities.
Out of an abundance of caution, Mobil Airport station has been closed temporarily from 10 pm on Wednesday, August 26. During this time, all of the station’s operating personnel will be quarantined and tested for COVID-19 whilst the station will be thoroughly cleaned.
“We will reopen the Mobil Airport station only when it is safe to do so,” the company said in a statement.
“We would like to assure our customers that we have in place a pandemic readiness action plan with precautionary measures to protect the health of our employees and customers. These measures include the mandatory wearing of face masks by customers and station personnel, separator panel from cashier, regular cleaning of facilities/ equipment, and having hand sanitizers and handwashing facilities available at all stations.”
Other Mobil stations will continue providing essential fuel supplies to the community with safety as the prime consideration.
