Mom arrested after leaving baby in car

The most recent case involves a 6-month-old baby left in a car in the parking lot of University of Guam last Friday by her mother, Elizabeth Liendhart Taisacan, which she said was unintentional.

Guam police have arrested 26 year old Elizabeth Lienhardt Taisacan on allegations that she left her 6 month old baby alone in a car at the University of Guam Friday afternoon.

GPD spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao reports that officers from the Hagåtña Precinct Command went to UOG about 4:30 p.m. in response to a report of an unattended child left in a car.

When officers arrived the baby was being treated by the school’s nurse and GFD medical personnel.

The officers later met with the mother and placed under arrest. Taisacan is now facing allegations of Leaving a Child Unattended in a Motor Vehicle, Child Abuse and Family Violence. She was booked and confined.

The baby was placed in the care and custody of CPS and the the case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General of Guam for prosecution.
