It’s been two months since 27-year-old Michael Jose Castro went missing but that hasn’t stopped his mother from hoping he will still be found.
Melanie Guerrero, the mother of Castro, says it’s both heartbreaking and frustrating that her son has been gone for this long.
“My family can’t be provided clear answers as to his whereabouts because no one has said anything. I mean, 200 some miles of land and 175,000 thousand people doesn’t know anything? It’s just not possible, somebody knows,” Guerrero said.
During the holidays, she and her family did their best to stay positive and found ways to keep Castro with them, even if he wasn’t physically there.
“Holidays and birthdays are very important to us and actually this year, we made it a very special private family time so that we could share like Michael was with us. We celebrated in a way that we felt that Michael was with us,” Guerrero said.
She added: “I’m not giving up on that hope that we will find him regardless of whatever the circumstances are. It’s always been that word, we just want to find Michael whatever the case is. We’re hoping he’s fine but if not, we still have to find him because no one should go missing and disappear like this in any case.”
PNC has reached out to GPD and according to Sgt. Paul Tapao, the case is still an ongoing investigation.
