Mother who whacked baby’s face also abused her other child: police

Guam – The mother who was seen in a circulating video smacking her toddler’s face several times also abused another one of her children, causing a nose bleed, according to court documents.

Leeanna Ree Finona Yun, 22, was arrested last Friday on charges of family violence and child abuse, both as felonies.

According to police, it was Yun’s own mother who turned her into police after the mother was made aware of the video. When the police officer viewed the video, he immediately contacted Child Protective Services. The officer noted that the video was captured on Sept. 8 but it wasn’t until September 11 that the abuse was reported to police.

Authorities also interviewed the person who recorded the video, who revealed that the incident occurred around 6 in the morning and that on that same day, the witness saw Yun slap another one of her children, a 3-year-old, in the face, causing a nose bleed.

Police later interviewed Yun who allegedly admitted to abusing her 2-year-old son in the video because he had “eaten the powdered milk that was for her younger son.”

According to police, the victim suffered scratches to the back of his neck, scrapes to the abdomen and bruising behind his head. Yun was booked and confined.
