The Guam Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that left one man dead last night.

It happened just after 7 p.m. last evening along Route 1 Marine Corps Drive in Asan. That stretch of roadway is known as “Dead Man’s Curve” because of the frequent accidents that happen there.

Guam police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao says the man was heading south on a black Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control and collided with a guard-rail. No other vehicles were involved.

When GFD medics arrived on the scene, the victim was not breathing and he had no pulse.

“Through the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. GFD medics had to recover the body or recover the motorcyclist and he was transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by attending physicians,” Tapao said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This was the 9th traffic-related fatality on Guam’s roads this year.
