The motorist in the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sept. 30 has been arrested.
As reported on Monday, Sept. 30, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the Okkodo Pipeline in Lada Dededo.
The male operator, later identified as 22-year-old, Jeromy John Pangelinan was transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care after being shot by police.
According to Sgt. Paul S.N. Tapao, Guam Police Department public information officer, detectives from GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division were later activated to assume the case. An administrative investigation was also initiated by GPD’s Internal Affairs Section.
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, Tapao said detectives from CID as well as traffic investigators from GPD’s Highway Patrol Division, met with and conducted an interview with Jeromy Pangelinan.
Pangelinan was later placed under arrest for the following offenses: Reckless Disregard for Safety While Impaired; Warrant of Arrest; Aggravated Assault; Assault on a Police Officer; Eluding a Police Officer; Use of a Deadly Weapon in Commission of a Felony; Criminal Mischief; No Driver’s License; Imprudent Driving; Leaving Scene of Crash With Property Damage; Speeding in a Posted Zone; Unsafe Lane Change; Expired Registration and Disobeying Stop Sign.
He was booked and confined.
