CNMI Governor Ralph Torres and Hollywood producer Brad Krevoy are collaborating to create a film industry in the CNMI.

The film industry, according to the CNMI Governor, will create new jobs and produce a minimum of 20 movies over the course of the next five years.

In addition to the film industry creating new jobs, there will also be training for film school students, increasing tourism, and diversifying the local economy says, Torres.

Krevoy is the founder and CEO of Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), which is a leading Hollywood company well-known for creating movies and having a strong marketing force internationally and in the U.S.

Krevoy is also known for comedies such as Dumb and Dumber, Beverly Hills Ninja, and Netflix movies such as A Christmas Melody starring Mariah Carey, and various Hallmark Christmas Movies. The most recent film Krevoy has produced is Falling for Christmas starring Lindsay Lohan, which is one of Netflix’s Top 10 Movies in the U.S. today.

Krevoy, in a media release said, “I’ve shot movies all over the world, but I’ve never been to a location with more natural beauty than the CNMI. I’m very excited to be starting this venture with Governor Torres, and know, with the people of Saipan and the CNMI, we will be able to share all that the islands have to offer.”
