On Friday of last week the Mt. Carmel school in Agat held a college fair in which their students make presentations on the colleges they want to attend.
Guam – The Mt. Carmel college fair allows students to not only think about college but to also research and learn more about the colleges they are interested in. 8th grade student Elija Santos says the fair was a success and he says he learned a lot about the college that he wants to attend which is the University of Pennsylvania.
“It is actually interesting because the college is famous for producing the most billionaires which is a total of 25,” said Santos.
Mt. Carmel Principal Bill Sarmiento said, “This thing started about 3 or 4 years ago we were talking about careers and then pretty soon going to careers going to college and then from there it evolved. Well you know if you’re gonna have a good career you need to go to college or a good technical school and then that’s how this came about and so we started last year talking about hey let’s do a college fair.”
Students researched and presented on over 120 colleges.
