Mickey Mouse or Measles Mouse?
If you took the kids to Disneyland over Christmas break, you might have brought home more than memories.
Your visit with Mickey Mouse might mean measles.
According to Public Health the Centers for Disease Control are looking at a multistate measles outbreak that started in California. Specifically within the California Disney properties Disneyland and Disney California adventure between December 17th and 20th of 2014. The cdc report issued earlier this month tracked 52 cases of measles in California, Washington, Oregon, and three other states.
No reports from Guam but Public Health urges parents and doctors to be on the lookout for the symptoms which include 3 or more days of high fever, cough, runny nose and pink eye. Parents are also encouraged to review immunization records for all of their children especially toddlers and infants.
