Guam – The suspect in Sunday’s murder of Amanda Marie Tedtaotao had a history of alleged abusive behavior and DUI arrests.

Court records show that 40 year old Roland San Nicolas Smith was the subject of a restraining order filed in 2006 against him by Tedtaotao whom Smith is now accused of beating to death with a metal pipe.

Tedtaotao, who at that time was known as Amanda Marie T. Cruz, had reported to authorities that she had been abused by Smith. Smith was ordered to undergo counseling, but he never completed it.

Tedtaotao died of a head injuries Sunday night at GMH.

The 40 year old Smith is being held on a $500-thousand dollar cash bail after he was magistrate yesterday [Monday] on murder charges in the death of his common law wife Amanda Marie Tedtaotao.

Smith is scheduled to appear in Superior Court again on October 21 at 4 pm before Judge Anita Sukola.
