PNC continues its investigation into the death of Keith Castro, speaking with his friends in an attempt to uncover what transpired prior to him being shot. Along the way, we also received statements on who Keith was not just what has been seen on social media. Here’s more.
It was yesterday that PNC uncovered the identity of the victim in Sunday’s shooting incident as Keith Castro. During the course of our investigation, we learned that Keith had been spending a lot of his time bouncing around, staying in his car and staying in hotels.
The home where the incident occurred in Yigo may have belonged to a man known to Keith as pictures were posted on social media of a Toyota Tundra which he was reportedly helping the man to sell is also seen here in the garage of where the shooting took place.
News of his passing has raised suspicion among his friends and acquaintances who believe that Keith was “set up.” We spoke to a friend of Keith, who wishes to remain anonymous, who told us what kind of person Keith was.
“He was a laid back person who never caused trouble. Also, my husband knows him. He stayed with him for three years and knows all his family members. Keith was a good guy. He never caused trouble to anybody, he’s just a good guy,” the friend said.
But a look at Keith’s Facebook profile and according to the friend, Keith had received threats. Other sources said there was allegedly a “hit” placed on Keith prior to his death. Over the last month, Keith frequently posted live stream videos on Facebook. In one video, he denies accusations that he was a snitch and alluded to individuals that he may have had conflicts with.
Then, in a livestream video, less than 12 hours prior to his death, Keith shared that someone was looking for him at a hotel and allegedly attempted to find out from hotel staff what room Keith was staying in. When the information was not provided, Keith discovered that his vehicle’s window had been smashed.
This raises the question: Who was the person responsible for this and did this individual have something to do with Keith’s death?

He is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Instead, if spotted, contact police at 472-8911. While police search for this man who may have information on the Yigo shooting, we continued our look into Keith’s death.
When news of Keith’s death spread, his friend says it was shocking.
“It shocked me completely because he didn’t deserve that. He was a really good guy. I mean all the stuff he was saying on facebook was just him defending himself from, you know, everybody. But other than that, he never caused trouble,” the friend said.
Once again, If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Thomas Mark Mendiola Taitano, also known as Mossy Taitano, call police at 472-8911.
