It was a battle between the top two seeds for the Prince of the Lanes as Mike Bautista out pinned top seed Jhun Viray to claim his first title.

Tamuning, Guam – In an exciting Budweiser King of the Lanes finale, 3rd seed Ricky Duenas opened up with a four bagger to take a 33 pin lead after five frames.  However, Timothy Nauta found his groove and stitched six strikes in a row including an 11th frame clincher to earn his first title of the year with a 243-233 victory as Duenas was unable to match the last frame rally after doubling in the ninth and tenth frames.

 

Top seed Nauta reached the finals knocking off 7th seed Manny Tagle 171-165; while 2nd seed Ray San Nicolas was bounced off by Duenas 151-249.

 

Nauta led all King of the Lanes competitors during the qualifying round held earlier in the morning with a 1299 six game set followed by Ray San Nicolas, Ricky Duenas, Gregory Borja, Anthony Meadows, Dante Godoy, Manny Tagle, Jim Pinaula, Brian Manibusan and Ray Manibusan rounding off the top ten.

 

It was a battle between the top two seeds for the Prince of the Lanes as Mike Bautista out pinned top seed Jhun Viray to claim his first title.  The top seed struggled throughout the match unable to find the strike zone as 2nd Bautista cruised to a 167+27 to 153+14 set.

 

Both competitors knocked off their semi-final challengers in convincing manner.  Viray sent 5th seed Nick Gutierrez packing 207-174 while Bautista canned 3rd seed Arlene Reyes 228-204.

 

Jhun Viray led all Prince of the Lanes qualifiers with a 1217 total followed by Mike Bautista, Arlene Reyes, Leody Ersando, Nick Gutierrez, Ricahrd Dahill, Lisa Duenas, Zayne Zamora, Debbee Simon and Amber San Nicolas.

 

With their respective division win, Timothy Nauta and Michael Bautista secured their spots for the year end finals of the Budweiser King and Prince of the Lanes.

 

The next Budweiser King and Prince of the Lanes will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
