Naval Base Guam celebrates Independence Day with festival, fireworks


The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Guam Freedom Rocks festival is ongoing at Sumay Cove Marina on U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG).

The event is open to all those with base access.

The festival features games, food, prizes, and live entertainment starting at 5 p.m.

The fireworks display will be launched at 8 p.m. from Clipper Landing Park and last approximately 10 minutes.

All attendees are reminded that face coverings are required in public spaces for those who are not fully vaccinated and when social distancing can’t be maintained.

For safety purposes, access to San Luis Beach, the Sumay Marina waters, and Clipper Landing Park was closed starting at 6 a.m., July 4, and will reopen at 6 a.m., July 5. Exceptions will be made for those who need to access boats at the Marina.
