Guam – Have you been wanting to take a yoga, dance or strength training class? Well, good news, the Guam Cancer Care and Triple J launched their Get Fit Guam program today!

The Get Fit Guam program offers more than 35 free fitness classes catering to a range of audiences, from kids to seniors, and varying fitness levels, from novice to expert. How did this happen? Well, the Guam Cancer Care and Triple J partnered up with gyms and fitness professionals throughout the island to help the community fight against cancer. Guam Cancer Care Director Terry Cuabo says they hope that by launching this Get Fit Guam program, the community will be more proactive instead of reactive in regards to cancer.

Cuabo says, “The goal of the GetFitGuam program is if our community participates in physical activity, which is a key component in the fight against cancer. GovGuam has their worksite wellness program but it’s only catered to GovGuam employees. The military promotes wellness. Getting fit is a community effort and we need to make it more accessible and available to our people of Guam.”
Triple J President Jeff Jones says, “Everyone in this room has been touched by cancer either loved one or friend. Many of us have lost someone to cancer so it’s a very important reason to come together.”
