New U.S. EPA Grant Program Could Open Up Funds for GWA

CCU Commissioner Simon Sanchez says that he is confident that GWA management will find a way to pursue the grants. 

Guam – Good news for the Guam Waterworks Authority as a new grant program setup by the US EPA could lead to more grant money for Guam’s water utility.

 

The grant program aims to discover innovative water saving methods and technologies. Three western U.S. municipal agencies are teaming up with the US EPA and the us bureau of reclamation on the grant project. The money will be awarded based on the agencies water saving technologies and could be awarded up to $500,000. CCU Commissioner Simon Sanchez says that he is confident that GWA management will find a way to pursue the grants. Since, 2012 GWA’s grant money has significantly jumped to 45 million dollars worth of grant money this past year.
