The Guam Fire Department (GFD) announces the award and issuance of a notice to proceed to Tyto Government Solutions. This action is a major step towards enhancing the island’s Emergency Response capabilities. The Next Generation 911 system will employ the latest advantages in technology including caller ID, location, Text-to-911, and GPS mapping capabilities.

Tyto Government Solutions’ first year’s partnership with GFD will include the installation and essential seamless transition from the current E911 system to the NG911 system–without dropping service for emergency services needed. The partnership will continue for three years and includes training and maintenance.

“While our administration restored the 911 special fund, we must also follow through with
ensuring the proper systems are in place to enable our first responders to perform their life-saving mission,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.

“Fire Chief Stone and the GFD Team are beyond excited to finally have reached this milestone and give the world’s current 911 technology to the Emergency Medical Dispatchers within the 911 Communications Center,” said Acting Fire Chief Joey C. San Nicolas.

“Tyto Government Solutions is excited to be working in partnership with the Guam Fire
Department and the Government of Guam to develop and deploy a state-of-the-art Next Generation 911 Emergency Dispatch Center. Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to providing the Territory with the services and physical space that reflect Governor Leon Guerrero’s goal to substantially upgrade emergency response capabilities on the island. The Tyto team is grateful for the confidence placed in our team to deliver this critically important solution for Guam, and we look forward to working cooperatively to bring this vision to fruition,” stated Todd Wilson, Associate Director, Program Management, Tyto Athene, LLC.
