9 arrested for Airport Plaza riot; separate incident from Tumon brawl

The Guam Police Department has arrested nine men in connection with a riot Sunday at the Airport Plaza in Tamuning, separate from a second major fight in Tumon.

In a release, GPD said officers from the Tumon/Tamuning Precinct Command, responded to the parking lot of Airport Plaza on Sunday March 8, for reports of a large gathering of people trying to re-enter Club Sassy’s.

The club had already closed for the night.

While trying to regain entry, a riot broke out. GPD said they arrested nine men for their involvement with the brawl.

Officers arrested the following individuals for the offenses:
-Desmond Samao 32-year-old male for: Possession and Use of a Deadly Weapon in the Commission of a Felony// Rioting // Disorderly Conduct // Public Drunkenness // Failure to Disburse and Obstruction to Government Functions.

-Alister Rifiong 43-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting // Disorderly Conduct // Public Drunkenness // Failure to Disburse and Obstruction to Government Functions.

-Dwera Walter 26-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting // Disorderly Conduct// Public Drunkenness // Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Walter Sinen 28-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting// Disorderly Conduct // Public Drunkenness // Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Iustas Nangauo 33-yer-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting// Disorderly Conduct // Public Drunkenness// Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Kayjay Otit 27-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting // Disorderly Conduct // Public Drunkenness//Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Joshua Aiten 30-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting // Disorderly Conduct// Public Drunkenness//Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Timothy Kata 41-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting// Disorderly Conduct// Public Drunkenness// Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

-Andy Aiseia 41-year-old male (John Doe) for: Rioting// Disorderly Conduct// Public Drunkenness//Failure to Disburse and Obstruction of Government Functions.

All nine men were booked and confined at the Department of Corrections. The case is now with the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.

Police Sergeant Paul Tapao confirmed to the Pacific News Center that these arrests were made in a separate incident from the major brawl caught on video in Tumon early Sunday morning.
