No roadwork this weekend at Route 1/8 intersection

Guam can get as much as $120 million in funding to go towards road repairs islandwide.

This time last weekend, many motorists were trapped in a massive traffic jam caused by roadwork in the Route 1/8 intersection in Hagatna.

Fortunately for motorists, that intersection will be free of roadwork this weekend.

The construction work originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 29 on the northbound lanes on Route 8 toward the Route 1/8 intersection in Agana and Sunday, March 1, on the southwest corner of the Route 1/8 Intersection in Agana have been postponed and lanes will be open.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian Rock Products (HRP) will continue construction activities on Harmon Industrial Park Road.

On Saturday, Feb. 29, the contractor will be milling along the eastbound and westbound lanes on Metal Lane (from Black Construction to Green Supermarket) and there will be intermittent lane closures from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

On Sunday, March 1, the contractor will be paving along Metal Lane. There will be road closure from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and access will be provided to local traffic and businesses only.

Motorists are advised to read all posted construction signs and observe speed limits. Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
